Our brands and products
Agrícola JJF grows and markets its own horticultural products from the heart of La Mancha, Llanos de Caudillo (Ciudad Real). Its main production line is based on two seasonal fruits: melon and watermelon, which are marketed under two different brands: JJF Gran Selección and Dellanos Selección Gourmet.
Both of them, our production is limited to a series of varieties of each kind, which we consider to be the best for these climatological and organic terrain conditions, in addition to providing a higher quality to the final product.
Similarly, we grow and market pumpkins under the variety Ariel and Pluto. This product is marketed under the brand name: JJF Gran Selección.
The melon is a herbaceous, climbing plant of the Cucurbitaceae family. It needs tropical, dry climates, soils rich in organic matter, soft and well drained. Spain is the first producer in Europe.
Melons contain 90% water, carbohydrates (sucrose), few calories and little fiber. Advisable for slimming diets. Contains: Vitamins: C, A, B1, B2, B3, B6. Minerals: Potassium Magnesium, Iron and Calcium. Others: Beta-carotene, antioxidants, Folates, Nicotinic acid, pantothenic acid.
We grow melons of the varieties: Sancho, Ibérico, Riado and Cordial.
Seasonal fruit. Its cultivation is concentrated from months of July to October.
The watermelon or “Citrullus lanatus”, is a herbaceous plant of annual cycle, climber or creeper, of rough texture. The fruit of the plant is large, usually more than 4 kilos, pepónide, fleshy and juicy, almost spherical, smooth texture and without porosities, green in two or more shades.
The fruit contains around 6% sugars and 91% water by weight. It is a good source of vitamin C. Watermelon rinds, usually light or white greens, are also edible and are sometimes eaten as a vegetable. Watermelon is slightly diuretic and contains carotenoids in large quantities. Watermelon with red pulp is a significant source of lycopene, provides 4,532 μg per 100 grams of watermelon.
We cultivate watermelons of the varieties: Style and Premium.
Seasonal fruit. Its cultivation is concentrated from months of July to September.
The pumpkin comes from a vigorous plant, balanced and easy to set. Good resistance to cracking and great conservation. Once the fruits are ripened, the meat is dark orange with an excellent flavor and high sugar content
Pumpkin contains vitamins: A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, E. Likewise, minerals such as Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Cobalt Boron, Zinc. Finally, folates, beta-carotenes, oxalic acid, linoleic acid, aspartic acid, oleic acid, palmitic acid, lecithin, amino acids.
We grow pumpkins of the varieties: Pluto and Ariel.
